Lent 2012

We did a Thoughtful Christian study entitled “Pausing on the Road to Jerusalem” for Lent 2012. Below are links to the studies, as well as the blog reflections.

Session 1: February 26-March 3 – Reflection here
Our biblical focus for this lesson will be Luke 4:1-13, and we’ll be looking at the temptations of Jesus.

Session 2: March 4-10 – Reflection here
Our biblical focus for this lesson will be Luke 13:31-35, and we’ll be taking a theological look at the cross. In particular, we’ll be looking at some different atonement theories.

Session 3: March 11-17 – Reflection here
Our biblical focus for this lesson will be Luke 13:1-9, and we’ll be discussing some issues like theodicy and repentance.

Session 4: March 18-24 – Reflection here
Our biblical focus for this lesson will be Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32, and we’ll be reflecting on the parable of the prodigal son.

Session 5: March 25-31 – Reflection here
Our biblical focus for this lesson will be John 12:1-8, and we’ll be looking at the “sensual” nature of Christianity – discussing our senses and material things.

Session 6: April 1-7 – Reflection here
Our biblical focus for this lesson will be Luke 19:28-40, and we’ll be looking at issues related to power and faith.
